Call to Convention
Mark Your Calendar:
Saturday, November 1, 2025
๐ Music City Center, Nashville
๐ Time: 11:00 AM
In accordance with Article 18
of SEIU Local 205's
Constitution and bylaws, this
shall serve as the official call
for the Local Convention. We
encourage all members to
participate in this process
and fill all Delegate and
Alternate slots allowed to
your chapter
Why this Matters
This convention isnโt just about voting โ itโs
about building power together. Whether youโre a
long-time union activist or a new member ready
to get involved, the convention is your space to:
- Vote on key union initiatives
- Nominate and elect leadership
- Meet fellow SEIU Local 205 members
- Celebrate our wins and gear up for the fights
ahead
OFFICER NOMINATIONS WILL BE
HELD AT THIS CONVENTION!
Positions open for nomination:
- President
- Executive Vice President
- Vice President for Organizing
- Secretary-Treasurer
- Recording Secretary
- Trustees (3)
Nominations for Delegates and Alternates are to be held during your chapter meetings in
August (the schedule for these meetings is below) and elections, if needed, will be held at
chapter meetings in September. Additionally, each chapter will be expected to designate a
Delegate to give their report at the Convention
According to the Localโs Bylaws, nominations must be made from the floor at the
Convention. Eligibility requirements are as follows:
A person shall be eligible to be nominated and to serve as an elected Local Union officer
who has been a member in good standing in the Local Union for at least two (2) years
immediately preceding the nomination and who has during all of that time paid the full
dues required for the working members of the Local Union within each month when due.
However, if any candidateโs Chapter has not been in existence the time required, a
candidate for office must have been a member in good standing for the entire time since
affiliation of the Chapter. No member may be a candidate for more than one local-wide
office at a time. The Local Union Convention may waive the foregoing requirements.
Remember, all members are invited to attend the Convention, but only Delegates can vote.
