SEIU Members in Nashville "Call for Change"!

SEIU members poured into Local 205's campaign call center all day Saturday to talk to voters in Texas about the 2008 Presidential election.  Dozens of members and other great local activists urged Texans to support Senator Barack Obama in their Democratic primary on March 4.

"This was the first time I've done anything political and I had a great time," said Jassy Guinn, a member at the Metro Action Commission.  "Things are tough out there for working people and it's time the country had a change.  I think that Obama will push hard for that change".

"I've talked to several undecided voters, and when I tell them about Obama's healthcare plan and his plan to create new good-paying jobs by repairing our country's infrastructure, they decide to go with Obama," says Michelle Hardy, a union steward in the MNPS chapter.  "Talking directly to people about the issues really does make a difference.  Regardless of who wins, I'm glad that I helped out".

Thanks to our members, the folks at Democracy for Tennessee, and all the local Obama supporters who came in on their day off to help the cause.  Together, we'll take our country back for working people in November!
