Election Report: SEIU's Endorsed Candidates Win Big Across Metro Nashville!

Now that the polls have closed and the votes have been counted, we can announce that the candidates endorsed by SEIU have won big in the August 4 Metro Council election.

Local 205 endorsed in 27 council districts across Davidson County. Our endorsed candidates won in 18 of the districts, we lost in 6, and we will have runoff elections in 3 districts. It's worth noting that in the 3 contests headed for runoffs, our endorsed candidates got the most votes on Election Night, making them the presumptive front-runners going into the election.

In the At-Large races, all five incumbents were re-elected. SEIU endorsed 2 of the 5 that won. The union did not endorse in the Mayor's race or in the Fairgrounds referendum.

Here are the complete election results and here is the list of the union's endorsed candidates.

Congratulations to our endorsed candidates and a very special thanks to all the Local 205 members who made phone calls, knocked on doors, waved campaign signs, worked the polls, and voted in this election.

The Metro Council runoff election will be on Thursday, Sept. 15.
