VICTORY: Demoted Nurse Gets Justice... and Her Backpay!

Carla Nolley, an LPN at Bordeaux Long Term Care was terminated last year when she and a co-worker had an altercation on the job.

After her hearing, Carla was reinstated, but demoted to a CNT. She was given backpay, but it was the backpay for a CNT... not an LPN.  The Union appealed this decision to Management, and their previous ruling was overturned. At the end of the day, Carla got back her original job and the LPN backpay that went with it.

“The Union works”, Carla says. “Even though this was a long appeal process, the outcome was worth it and I’m glad that I joined SEIU because they stood by me the whole time”.
