Health Care Rally is a Huge Success
With media outlets from around the world focused on Nashville prior to the Presidential debate at Belmont University, hundreds of community activists and leaders converged on Legislative Plaza to focus on the need for health care reform. Attendees listened to singers and bands, to leaders from across the country and to health care stories.
SEIU member Dianne Saunders, an R.N. at General Hospital, introduced SEIU Executive Vice President Eliseo Medina to the crowd after talking about her own experience in caring for uninsured and underinsured patients who are getting left behind by the current health care system.
In addition to voting for candidates who are committed to health care reform, Reverend Ed Sanders reminded the crowd to be diligent in our efforts to hold politicians accountable and to make sure we keep our focus on making affordable, quality health care available for everyone.
