Member Spotlight: Tina Smith

CNA, Methodist Medical Center

Tina Smith is a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) on the cardiac floor at Methodist Medical.  She has been an employee since 2003 and an active union member the whole time.

“A union gives you a family feeling, something to belong to; you are more than just an employee number”, Tina says.

Tina has four children, ranging in age from 10 to 17 years old:  Phillip, David, Nathan, and Holly.  She has been married to husband Danny since 1988.  She enjoys riding motorcycles, working on cars, and owns her very own classic ’68 SS Chevelle Street Rod.  Saturday nights during the summer, you can find Tina at The Knoxville Dragway, where she races as a crowd favorite.

Tina is proud to stand with her co-workers in Local 205.  “With a union... if you mess with one of us, then you mess with all of us!”
