Susan Quinn

Resource Educational Assistant, Tom Joy Elementary

Susan Quinn is a Resource Educational Assistant at Tom Joy Elementary who is now a Steward in the Metro Schools chapter, representing the Educational Assistants. Susan has been a member since August of 2005 and has been involved in the labor movement since 1981, when she was a legal secretary for labor attorney, Mark Brooks (who also does some work for Local 205).

Since becoming a Steward with SEIU, Susan filed a grievance on behalf of Educational Assistants who were highly qualified before the new rules went into effect. Winning this grievance resulted in placing those MNPS employees on the correct placement on the pay scale.

It is with great pleasure that we accept her commitment to represent Educational Assistants this term also.
