Sharon Griffin

Sharon Griffin has been a manager with MNPS Food Service for 11 years and a Union member for 8 years.  She is currently the cafeteria manager at Maplewood High School.

Sharon says, “my experience with MNPS Food Service has been most enjoyable. The opportunity to work with principals, staff, and students at all grade levels gives me the chance to participate in daily lives and put smiles on many faces. Being a Union member shows that the Union fights for equality and justice for all its members. They are responsible for fighting for pay raises, medical initiatives, and basic fair practices with the Metropolitan Board of Education. Being an active part of the Union is my way of giving back to society and improving all of our jobs today and tomorrow”.

It is clear from seeing her beautifully decorated cafeteria lines and the smiles on the students, as well as staff, that Sharon is a good fit for her profession. All of the staff that work with Sharon in her kitchen are SEIU members also.  What a great combination!  A staff that works well together and understands the strength in numbers.  Truly, we are stronger together!
