Martha Lingley

Martha Lingley is the Food Service Manager at Overton High School.  She comes from a strong union family and was instrumental at bringing SEIU into the Metro Nashville Public School system.  When some employees got together to discuss the possibility of organizing with SEIU, Martha took action.  She asked others to become involved and take a stand at the food service in-service at Hunters Lane.  From there the Organizing Committee was formed.

Before serving as manager at Overton, Martha had extensive experience in food service as a cluster manager, supervising three schools, Hume-Fogg, Nashville School of the Arts, and West End Middle school.  Despite having such a large school to oversee, she is still very active in her union duties.  Her past roles have included serving as representative on the support council as well as Food Service representative for SEIU Labor/Management meetings.  Currently she holds the position of Cluster Steward, representing the food service department members.  Thanks to Martha Lingley for her leadership role.
