Charlene Case

Charlene Case is the school secretary at Maplewood High School in Nashville and has been an SEIU member since 1997.

On a daily basis, Charlene meets and greets the parents, she answers phones, oversees attendance records, and assists teachers. She is very proud of her evaluations which are always “outstanding” and she recently received a Certificate of Achievement for completing MNPS’ Customer Care and Customer Relations program.

Charlene is married with two grown children—one of whom is recently married. Charlene is active in her church, likes to travel, and enjoys attending Vanderbilt football games.

Charlene joined the Union because “it makes me feel a little bit safer,” she says. “Working with children is very stressful. Sometimes they might say that you said or did something you didn’t do. I feel like I have someone on my side as long as I do what I know is right”.
