Brenda Shields

Asst. Nutrition Services Manager, Riverview Elementary

Brenda Shields is an Assistant Nutrition Services Manager who’s worked for Memphis City Schools for 10 years.  Brenda was one of the first people to sign up for the union when SEIU came to MCS over a year ago and she continues to be a leading voice in Local 205.

In addition to being the school chapter’s Chief Steward, Brenda has also served as a member of your Bargaining Committee and she’s on the new Political Committee which will be studying and recommending candidates in this year’s School Board elections. Brenda’s also served at state-level positions on the Committee for Future Strength and she’s a delegate on the Local’s Executive Board.

“I don’t go along to get along,” Brenda says. “The only way we’re going to get what we deserve is to stand together and stay united.”
