Brenda Brown

Methodist Medical Center

Brenda Brown has been at Methodist Medical Center for 6 years and works in the dietary department as a cashier.  She lives in Coalfield with her husband, two boys, and two dogs.

In addition to her smiling face at the cash register, Brenda is an accomplished hairstylist.  She took cosmetology classes while a student at Anderson County High School, and is the hairdresser for her family and friends.  She's also quite the photographer and it's not unusual to see Brenda with a camera in her hand outside of work since she takes pictures for her son's basketball team.  And as if she wasn*t busy enough, Brenda still finds time to enjoy fishing with the family, going four-wheeling, and keeping the house looking great on the outside by planting flowers and light gardening.

Brenda believes everyone who has the opportunity should belong to the union.  "Without the union, I don*t feel like our job is secure," she says.  "We need a strong union to get the best benefits, especially in this contract year.  That means people who have been procrastinating need to go ahead and join our union ASAP.  I know I feel safer with the union backing me!"
