Vote to Ratify the New Metro MOU on Aug. 7!

All SEIU members who work for Metro Government are invited to come vote to ratify the new M.O.U. (Memorandum of Understanding) between SEIU and Metro Government.  Voting will be on Thursday, Aug. 7 from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm at the Union Hall, which is located at 521 Gallatin Road in East Nashville.
 
Here are the highlights of the new Agreement...

• A new process to handle non-Civil Service issues.
• A guarantee that the Union gets more input at the beginning of Metro’s budgeting process.
• A clearer grievance procedure across Metro and clearer language on appeals to Human Resources.
• Combined union release time.
• Language to have Binding Agreements if state labor laws change.
• Clearer language on holding union worksite meetings.
• A three-year agreement.
• Ability to meet and confer about issues during the duration of the MOU.
