SEIU Endorses Ty Cobb for State House Special Election

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) today announced their endorsement of Ty Cobb in the special election for Tennessee House of Representatives in District 62.

“As a truck driver and union member, Mr. Cobb understands the issues that affect Tennessee’s hard-working families,” said Doug Collier, president of SEIU Local 205. “In these trying economic times, it’s good to know that regular folks will have someone like Ty Cobb looking out for them and our organization is proud to support his campaign”.

Ty Cobb is the Democratic candidate running to succeed former state representative Curt Cobb who retired in July. The special election is scheduled for October 13, 2009. To learn more about the candidate, visit www.tycobb62.org.

The SEIU is the largest single labor union in North America, with a membership of 2 million members and counting. In Tennessee, SEIU Local 205 represents public service and healthcare workers across the state.
