Be Part of the “Next Wave” of Union Activism!

NextWave_logo_2As the threat to the middle class and working families continues to grow in Tennessee and across the country, it is up to us to lead the way in fighting back.

Our Local’s long range Strategic Plan is focused on expanding member engagement, broadening our union leadership, deepening our community ties, strengthening our political program, and enhancing communication with members.

Our “Next Wave” program will help make this happen. It’s designed to educate, empower, and train SEIU members to be able to address tomorrow’s challenges… today. The program has been developed through membership surveys, listening sessions, and reports from union officers which allows us to use the knowledge of the past alongside the tactics and tools of today.

Want to be part of this movement? Want to help us build a powerful organization that connects technology, community, and politics so that we can effectively fight back and win?

Our first “Next Wave” training will be held from 10 am- 3 pm on Saturday, June 2 in Nashville at the IBEW Apprenticeship Center (310 Fesslers Lane, 37210).

Lunch will be provided, but all applicants must rsvp. Attendees must be prepared to sign the “Purple Pledge” and commit at least four hours per month to the program. To find out what is expected of our team members, review the job descriptions for our Communication, Political, and Community teams.

To rsvp for the June 2 “Next Wave” training, contact the Nashville office toll-free at 800-447-1330 or by email.
